Valentine's Day in Turkey
Celebration of Valentine's Day in Turkey is in February 14th and is celebrated by young couples. These couples spend the whole day with each other. All day long is for they that mean during the day, they go to an amusement park or a cinema and have dinner together. They begin to do shopping two weeks prior to Valentine's Day because at the end of the day, they give each other gifts and also flowers, especially red roses, because a red rose has special meaning for love. Cupid
About love, amor we may say that was also an alternate name for Cupid. Cupid was the son of Venus, the Roman god of love and beauty and sexual desire: a desire for sexual intimacy. Greek mythology, Eros the son of Ares and Aphrodite (Goddess of love and beauty), is the equivalent of love, where the word "erotic" comes from. Also, love has an equivalent in the philosophy of Plato, as a fundamental creative impulse, having a sensual element.Love for Saint Valentine
Because Saint Valentine kept on performing marriage ceremonies, secretly, during the time when Rome was ruled by an emperor named Claudius, was thrown in jail and the punishment was death.
One night, we did hear footsteps. It was scary! Thank goodness the couple I was marrying escaped in time. I was caught. (Not quite as light on my feet as I used to be, I guess.) I was thrown in jail and told that my punishment was death. Many young people came to the jail to visit him. They threw flowers and notes up to his window. They wanted him to know that they, too, believed in love.
